What Is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a cannabinoid. These compounds are named after the cannabis plant which produces hundreds of cannabinoids. The most common of these are THC and CBD. With so much in the happening in relation to CBD in the media recently, you may be asking “So what is CBD?”, “Is it safe?” or even “Is it legal?”…
CBD is a naturally occurring oil from cannabis and hemp plants, it has been in the spotlight recently for many reasons. CBD can be bought as a food supplement, and used as part of a healthy routine to support and maintain good health. It may also be applied to the skin in the form of a salve, inhaled as a vapour or consumed as tea or food!
CBD does not have an intoxicating effect, which is why it is legally available. THC is the illegal part of cannabis, but is not found in our products. As with any dietary supplement we recommend doing your own research and gaining as much information and knowledge about CBD’s potential health effects, and the ongoing research into this incredible supplement.
CBD acts like a kind of fuel for a part of your body called the endocannabinoid system. This system’s job is to keep you healthy and well. You have cannabinoid receptors in almost every tissue of your body, which is why CBD can be used to support and maintain your health.
Imagine what we could do if THC were legal too!

How TO Take CBD?
We recommend that anyone wanting to use CBD, start low and gradually increase their dose based on how they feel.
Nobody knows your body better than you, and it is better to take small amounts of CBD at regular intervals, than large quantities all at once.
CBD can be consumed in a wide variety of ways- it can be taken as an oil, vaped, eaten, taken in a drink, applied topically or all of the above.
The most common product to start with is a CBD oil which can be applied under the tongue, and help for up to a minute, a couple of times a day. This is the most effective way to intake CBD as it is drawn directly into the blood stream. That being said, the best way to take CBD is completely up to you!
Everybody is different, so what works for us, may not work for you. Experiment and see what works for you, although we do always recommend that the customers who go slowly tend to have a better experience of CBD and report better results in the long term.
As a CBD retailer, we do not make any medical claims regarding CBD, and it is not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any medical condition, but if it’s helped you, we’d love to hear your story. Drop us an email some time!
Benefits OF CBD
The benefits of CBD are all down the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) which is something we all have inside of us.
The ECS is part of our body which regulates normal and healthy bodily function. This system uses Cannabinoids which are found in our bodies, and in plants like Cannabis (also found in olives, flax seeds and black pepper).
The ECS can help to regulate everything from appetite, digestion, immune function, inflammation (including neuroinflammation), mood, sleep, reproduction/fertility, motor control, temperature regulation, memory and pain among many other things. The ECS is an exciting discovery which could provide the key to new medical breakthroughs.
